Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) Darlington
When it comes to electrical testing in your rented property, organising the process can be tough. You need an electrician to work around you, or your tenants; fast, efficiently and with no fuss. And that’s why all of our electrical testing, including issuing an Electrical Installation Condition Report, is arranged at a time to suit you, and conducted by fully qualified industry experts.
Whether you’ve had your property tested before, or you’re completely new to the process, don’t worry. We’ll guide you through the process, telling you what we’re going to do, how long it will take and what the next steps are after the test. If the tests are good, we’ll present you with a certificate and be on our way. But if there are things that come up in the test, we’ll be sure to notify you and present you with a list of recommendations.
New regulations in place from July 2020
As of 1 July, 2020, the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020 became mandatory for all landlords in the private rented sector.
These new regulations place an obligation on each landlord to ensure that an EICR is in place, for each property, before a new tenancy can commence. The same rules also apply for existing tenancies, from 1 April 2021, and will demand that the testing is repeated at least every five years.
Subsequently, it is now more important than ever before to ensure that the installations at your properties are professionally tested, and safe to use for each tenant.
So why turn to Signtree Electrical?
All of our electricians are Part P, CHAS and NICEIC certified, which means they’ve had to pass many examinations and prove their competence through years of experience. When it comes to electricals our specialists know what they’re talking about.

Under certain circumstances, even before the new regulations (above) were in place, it was already a legal requirement to obtain an Electrical Installation Condition Report. For example:
- When a new appliance is installed
- When any circuits have been added to an already existing installation
- When there are any changes to your consumer unit (fuse board)
- When any circuits have been altered, and the alteration has required a change to the protective device
However, this process should never be hard, or stressful or confusing. By working with Singtree Electrical, we can ensure that you’re in safe hands. We work around your schedule, so that if any work does need doing, we can do it at a time to suit you.
EICRs can only ever be performed by an electrician who is Part P & NICEIC certified. We ensure all of our electricians have these as a minimum so that we can deliver a top quality service to customers like you on a daily basis.
